Watamu Dolphin Season 2026 Is Starting

October is the shoulder month. The strong Kusi winds of July to September are easing, the sea is settling and boats are spending more time beyond the reef. From 15 November the high season begins, with the calmest water and the most boat days through to March. Why Dolphin Sightings Are Never Guaranteed

Dolphins are wild and move freely over large areas of the Indian Ocean. Food, social behaviour and predators decide where they are each day, not boat schedules. A calm morning in season gives a good chance, but nobody can promise a sighting.
